Equestrian Dream of a Flag-Pole Skater

I play the part opposite
those who came to look this way
through a thousand acts of

maintenance. Loosening bolts
in the city’s new flower machines,
status drifts in the distance.

Geldings suffer under the rafters,
and shortly after loving you,
I become your dying horse.
